The author is Arthur J. Downham who was born in 1917 in England. He first found out he had a talent for story telling when his young niece was bedridden for a time and he entertained her, and incidentally, the family, every night, drawing as he told the stories. It is the “now not so young niece” Joyce Wallbridge of Victoria, British Columbia who has lovingly assembled and published The Collection Of Em – Jungle Stories for story telling enjoyment by other young children of today.
